Vladimir Feldman currently teaches Extra Curricular Chess Classes at The Scots College and in a number of Eastern Suburbs Independent and Public Schools. An International Chess Master with over 30 years experience in chess tutoring, Vladimir has a university degree in Chess Coaching from Moscow Sports University. In 2005 Vladimir completed the Professional Accreditation as an FIDE Trainer by the International Chess Federation. As a player Vladimir’s best result was winning the Oceania Championship and representing Australia in World Chess Championship in Las Vegas in 1999.Almudena Fernandez Nunez

Almudena Fernandez was born in Vigo, Spain. After graduating with a degree in Journalism at the University of Santiago de Compostela, she worked in various media outlets. In was during her time at University that she started teaching Spanish, and thereby discovered her passion for languages. Dr Rita Ferraro has designed, developed and delivered academic courses, with a specialisation in Spanish language, for the University of Sydney (USYD) and the University of New South Wales (UNSW), since 2002. She also introduced Brazilian Portuguese language courses to University of Sydney’s Centre for Continuing Education in 2004, which meant it was the first Australian institution to offer Brazilian Portuguese courses for adults.
Dr Ferraro has written and published a series of bi-lingual Portuguese language tuition books and in 2020, she published a book chapter that explores second language acquisition, noting the various challenges native English-speakers face in applying implicit and explicit knowledge to their language learning. Dr Ferraro is an accomplished academic author, course tutor, lecturer, and convenor, with outstanding reviews from her many students.
Dr Ferraro earned a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Portuguese and Spanish from Fluminense Federal University (UFF), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1996 and a PhD in Portuguese and Spanish contrastive linguistics from University of Cadiz (UCA), Spain, in 2005. She also attained various certificates such as CERT IV TAE, IELTS, ISLPR, TESOL and others.
Dr Ferraro’s interests are in advancing language learning, particularly in Portuguese and Spanish, with an expanding interest in exploring and documenting the attributes that constitute ‘best practice’ teaching methods and methodologies.
Judith Fethney

Judith has been working as biostatistician in Sydney Nursing School, now known as the Susan Wakil School of Nursing and Midwifery, for 24 years. She has been using SPSS for over 35 years.
Judith has a Bachelor of Arts majoring in statistics and a Bachelor of Teaching. Her main role is to provide statistical guidance and advice to staff and students across all aspects of their research, from conceptualisation through to publication.
In addition, Judith presents intensive lectures in statistics for epidemiology and clinical trial research. She is passionate about statistics as a language anyone can learn, and her goal is to make statistics accessible to everyone who needs to use them.
