Melissa Bruce completed a B.Ed. (Victoria College/Deakin), Diploma in Directing (NIDA), and an MA in Writing at UTS, where she has taught graduate and post graduate writing. Melissa has had a selection of short fiction and non-fiction works published. She has written and directed works of drama for radio and theatre. She was recently awarded a mentorship with the Australian Society of Authors to develop her fictional novel. Melissa established MB Performance Consulting in 1998 to help speakers find and strengthen their voice and confidence in public communications. She is currently also supporting writers to identify and strengthen their original voice.Tom Bruce

Tom Bruce is a French English bilingual. He was born in France and raised in Paris, and later studied French at a University in Paris. Tom has taught French to Japanese students in Tokyo and is now a teacher at the Centre for Continuing Education. Joseph Buch was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He studied architecture and planning at the University of California / Berkeley, The University of Toronto (M.Sc.Pl. 1970) and the University of Oregon (M.Arch. 1976). He practised for 10 years as a designer of houses and theatre productions in Santa Cruz, California, where he was also associated with the new campus of the University of California. He lived in Amsterdam from 1986 to 1990, where he wrote “A Century of Architecture in the Netherlands”, the first complete history of this subject. He has taught architecture and architectural history at Curtin University , the University of Technology, Sydney and at the University of Sydney.Ilan Buchman

Dr Buchman completed his Bachelors degree in 1980 majoring in Modern Hebrew and Linguistics from the University of South Africa and thereafter obtained his B.A Honors degree in Hebrew Literature from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, where he also attained his Ph.D.
He has recently undertaken a post graduate course in Hebrew Morphology and Hebrew Linguistics through the Open University of Israel.
During the course of his studies in South Africa he was admitted as a sworn translator and interpreter of the Supreme Court in the Hebrew and English languages and acted as a tutor at the Graduate School of Translators and Interpreters.
Ilan has a special interest in the works of the Israeli poet and playwright David Avidan.

Dr Shahar Burla is a Sydney based researcher and lecturer. Shahar holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the Hebrew University and a PhD in Political Science from Bar–Ilan University. He is the author of “Political Imagination in the Diaspora: The Construction of a Pro-Israeli Narrative” (2013) and the co-editor of “Australia and Israel: A Diasporic, Cultural and Political Relationship” (2015). He has received several awards, including a President’s Fellowship for outstanding PhD student and the Menahem Begin Foundation Academic Award.
Since moving to Australia from Israel ten years ago, he has been teaching courses about Israel, Israeli culture and the Middle East. In the last years Shahar is coordinating and teaching the curses “War & Peace in the Middle East through Films”, “Israel through Films” and “BookSurfing”.
