Harvey Broadbent

Harvey Broadbent AM is a well-known writer, lecturer, broadcaster, documentary film and TV producer. In January 2016 he received the prestigious award of Member of the Order of Australia for his life time’s work in researching and writing history and producing historical documentaries. The citation reads 'For significant service to the literary arts as an author and publisher, to the television industry as a producer, and to tertiary education.'
From 2005 to 2015, Harvey was Associate Professor and Senior Research Fellow in Modern History at Macquarie University. At Macquarie University he directed the Gallipoli Centenary Research Project – a project centred on the Turkish military archives and the Gallipoli Campaign. The outcomes of this project included two books; Gallipoli, the Turkish Defence and Defending Gallipoli, (MUP), his fourth and fifth books. From 1977 to 1999 he worked as a Producer and Executive Producer for the ABC.
Harvey is also an experienced lecturer and study tour group leader having led tours to Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Greece, and UK every year since 1992. He has travelled extensively in Turkey and the Eastern Mediterranean over many years, leading tours and making documentary films. He lectured regularly about Turkey, its history and that of the Eastern Mediterraean region for Sydney University Continuing Education and the Workers Education Association Sydney (WEA). Courses and lectures included: Kemal Ataturk: victor of Gallipoli, The Other Side: Turks at Gallipoli, The Gallipoli Battlefield, The Ottomans: Empire and Culture, The Aegean: Sea of Conflict, The Byzantines to the Ottomans, The Hittites, Classical Anatolia, From Constantinople to Istanbul.

Antony is an Adobe & Apple Certified Instructor who has been teaching design software for over 15 years. He began his training career working for Adobe in London where he taught Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Adobe XD and Captivate. Antony has worked for many of the top training companies in London as well as the film and television industry in Soho. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge and seeing the transformation this brings about in his clients.
Antony has worked with a wide range of clients, including Microsoft, Yahoo, Westpac, Australian Federal Police, the London 2012 Olympics, and many others.
Antony is an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop CC, After Effects CS5, Premiere Pro CC, Audition and as a Video Specialist. He is a Certified Instructor in Photoshop CC, After Effects CS5, and Premiere Pro CC. Antony also holds certifications from Apple in Final Cut Pro X & 7.
Martin Brown

Martin has had a rich and varied career in education and the arts. He started as a high school Science, Drama and English teacher before pursuing live theatre. He then moved into feature films as an art director, most notably on Strictly Ballroom.
He was Co-Producer on William Shakespeare’s Romeo+Juliet and the lead producer of Moulin Rouge. This film won the Golden Globe for Best Musical or Comedy of 2001 and was nominated for eight Academy Awards including Best Picture. Martin won the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Producer of the Year in 2001 from the Producers’ Guild of America.
In 2011, Martin was approached to join AFTRS, the National Film School. He was ultimately appointed Director of Award Courses, with responsibility for all accredited courses. He was responsible for developing 11 new Masters degrees, a new Bachelor of Arts degree, 8 new Graduate Certificates, 3 new Advanced Diplomas, 5 new Diplomas and numerous short courses. He also established and ran the Applied Industry Research unit at AFTRS which explored virtual reality, binaural audio, biometric feedback. Martin has a passionate interest in the intersection of technology and learning. In an increasingly complex, intermediated world, this exploration is more important than ever.

Ann has been in education for over 20 years. She completed her Master of Education at the University of Sydney in 2003, and has since spent time teaching in the UK and is now a department Head of Science. She has a breadth of knowledge and understanding of the NSW curriculum as she has been involved in Examination Committees with NESA for the past 10 years. Melissa Bruce completed a B.Ed. (Victoria College/Deakin), Diploma in Directing (NIDA), and an MA in Writing at UTS, where she has taught graduate and post graduate writing. Melissa has had a selection of short fiction and non-fiction works published. She has written and directed works of drama for radio and theatre. She was recently awarded a mentorship with the Australian Society of Authors to develop her fictional novel. Melissa established MB Performance Consulting in 1998 to help speakers find and strengthen their voice and confidence in public communications. She is currently also supporting writers to identify and strengthen their original voice.Tom Bruce

Tom Bruce is a French English bilingual. He was born in France and raised in Paris, and later studied French at a University in Paris. Tom has taught French to Japanese students in Tokyo and is now a teacher at the Centre for Continuing Education. Joseph Buch was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He studied architecture and planning at the University of California / Berkeley, The University of Toronto (M.Sc.Pl. 1970) and the University of Oregon (M.Arch. 1976). He practised for 10 years as a designer of houses and theatre productions in Santa Cruz, California, where he was also associated with the new campus of the University of California. He lived in Amsterdam from 1986 to 1990, where he wrote “A Century of Architecture in the Netherlands”, the first complete history of this subject. He has taught architecture and architectural history at Curtin University , the University of Technology, Sydney and at the University of Sydney.Ilan Buchman

Dr Buchman completed his Bachelors degree in 1980 majoring in Modern Hebrew and Linguistics from the University of South Africa and thereafter obtained his B.A Honors degree in Hebrew Literature from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, where he also attained his Ph.D.
He has recently undertaken a post graduate course in Hebrew Morphology and Hebrew Linguistics through the Open University of Israel.
During the course of his studies in South Africa he was admitted as a sworn translator and interpreter of the Supreme Court in the Hebrew and English languages and acted as a tutor at the Graduate School of Translators and Interpreters.
Ilan has a special interest in the works of the Israeli poet and playwright David Avidan.
