The New Education and Training Model (NETM) provides industry-led training opportunities that deliver the skills needed as the Western Parkland City evolves. NETM micro-credentials are short, flexible and accessible courses that enable you to gain skills to advance your career. The University of Sydney is proud to partner with the Western Parkland City Authority and industry partners to deliver education and training that is needed now. All of our courses are guided by industry needs and taught by University of Sydney academics.

When will the courses start?

The first course will be delivered in October 2022, with subsequent courses to be delivered throughout 2023.

Who is eligible to enrol in the NETM?

NETM micro-credentials are designed for individuals living or working in the eight local government areas of Greater Sydney that make up the Western Parkland City. These areas are the Blue Mountains, Camden, Campbelltown, Fairfield, Hawkesbury, Liverpool, Penrith and Wollondilly.

How are courses designed and delivered?

Each NETM micro-credential is delivered entirely online, allowing working professionals to fit their studies around their commitments.

What are micro-credentials?

Micro-credentials are assessed short courses that provide flexible and accessible opportunities to build in-demand skills and knowledge. In some cases, micro-credentials can be stacked to provide credit for longer qualifications.

How are NETM courses different from other microcredentials offered by The University of Sydney?

Our NETM micro-credentials are developed with industry partners to address skills that are in demand in the Western Parkland City.

How much do the NETM courses cost?

Our NETM micro-credentials are funded by the NSW Government. This means that they are currently available free of charge for qualifying learners who live or work in the Western Parkland City.
